Our School Council/Pupil Voice
Our school council is a group of children who are elected to represent the views of all pupils in our school and to help improve our school.
There are two representatives from each class from Reception to Year 4. These representatives are elected by their classmates every term. In the Spring Term, we are joined by 2 members from our Reception class. Each representative wears an official 'School Council' badge.
Class representative’s feedback to their class as soon as possible after our meetings and the minutes of the meeting are placed on the School Council Board in the corridor. Classes have a suggestion book where children are able to write in their suggestions and their class representatives can bring them along to the school council meetings to be discussed.
03.06.2021 This week our Pupil voice discussion was based on the question
What is important about our school? What do we want it to be like?
Miss Parkin wanted to find out more about the children’s views on our school to help create a vision statement. The children were asked to reflect on their time at school and what they loved about learning here. We are working collaboratively to think of the sort of school we want Merley First to be.
