Hello all Reception children!

Can you believe this will be our final home learning of the year, with only three days left if you are attending school!

The learning theme this week is all called 'Our Differences Make us Unique'. This is a lovely opportunity to reflect on our similarities and differences and to think about being kind to one another. it's also about being open to making new friends over the summer and when you return to your new year 1 classes. Mrs Anstey's assembly introduces the theme well, I would recommend watching this to start your week.

What a very different end to the year! None of us could have predicted what we have just lived through. We have been part of history in the making. Yet you have ALL shown great strength, resilience and a fabulous 'can do' attitude to learning in new ways and communicating and connecting in new ways.

You are two classes who will forever be in our hearts! We are so proud of you and we will continue to watch you flourish as you grow and move up through the school. Have a super fun summer, stay safe, be kind and relax!

All our love Miss Thomas, Mrs Priest, Mrs Marshall, Miss Jolly, Miss Scott, Mrs Shaw, Mrs Clulow, Mrs Stevens, Miss Kyps and Mrs Lloyd! XXX

Hi Ladybirds and Butterflies!

I hope you enjoyed being artists for the week? We certainly had lots of fun at school with some pieces turning out really well and some not so well as we had issues with the salt dough!!      :  /

This weeks home learning theme is based on woodlands, so hopefully you'll be able to get out and about to explore some of the lovely woodlands around. We are very lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the UK with lots of nature and woodland to adventure. I look forward to seeing lots of fun pictures on Tapestry before sadly our Tapestry journey together comes to an end.

Well what a busy and emotional week it's been with lots of announcements made such as which class you will be in next year, as well as your reports being sent out. I must say again, we are so proud of the resilience you have all shown, those who have returned to school and those who have continued with home school.

This week I will be having a meeting with your new teachers to give them a handover and tell them all about you. There will also be a letter with some photos of your new staff team, introducing themselves. Normally they would have come to read you stories and we would have had the chance to visit their class. However this year we have not been able to fulfil any of  the normal transition events. Yet I know you will all continue to show resilience and will settle well when you return.

It has not been an easy or normal year and we feel very robbed of our precious time together. Yet, you have all continued to show strength and positivity. We know that when you return to year 1 you will be looked after by the year 1 team and we will miss you dearly. However we will always be looking out for you and want to hear about how you are getting on, so don't forget to give us a wave and say hello!

Take care - stay strong and be happy!

Love Miss Thomas and the Reception Team XX
