At Merley First School, your child’s safety is a priority for us. We have qualified First Aiders who are trained to assess and respond to all First Aid incidents. 

We will always contact parents and carers for serious incidents, such as significant head injuries, deep wounds or any situation where we believe medical follow-up is needed.

For minor 'day-to-day' bumps, small grazes and bruises, our trained team will provide care and record the details in our school log, but we will not send a formal notification home.  This approach allows us to prioritise timely care for children, reduce unnecessary communication for minor matters and ensure our records remain accurate and consistent. 

Every incident—no matter how small—is recorded in our school log for internal monitoring.
